I’ve been teaching creative media for over 15 years, specialising in videography, editing and web design across a range of educational settings. I love helping young creatives develop their skills and confidence (and slipping as many film and TV references into lessons as humanly possible.)
Definitely a prime lens. The sharpness, natural depth of field and clean look it gives can elevate even the most basic setup - it’s the easiest way to make your visuals stand out.
Shoot twice as much than you need. Extra footage always saves you in the edit.

I'm a sucker for After Effects but I've started playing with Callipeg on my iPad for lazy hand-drawn animation ideas. Very cool...

Ollie and Andie were the perfect teachers for me, they were fun, down to earth and supportive. The two of them are deeply passionate about this industry and loved to see us learn and develop. I'm now in my final year of film production at the university of Gloucestershire, I've directed an award winning short film, and collaborated on so many creative projects, met industry members and gained industry experience. Andie and Ollie England inspired me and tended to my learning to a degree I had never experienced beforehand, and haven't experienced since. What started as a throw-away period learning animation as a college enrichment, through Ollie's excellent teaching and one-to-one attention, I found a passion for the subject - applying it to my work in college and earning money from it through freelance endeavours. As of 2024 I am now studying animation at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
